Hi CASH

We are desperately behind on sending out a promo, and I cannot add any assets at the moment.
We cannot even get to the assets page its just spinning.
When I try a direct URL I get Internal server error.
Please Please help urgently !

Regards

Matt

    Hi Matt,

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

We did a security update last week that's had unexpected consequences on
Google Drive stuff. We're working hard on a fix but it'll be a few days.
For now try setting up S3 as an alternative to Google Drive. (It's actually
far better at scale, so probably smart regardless.)

    Hi J

I did in the meantime look at vagrant and could not login, I do like the dog fascination.

Anyway back to S3 I'm logged into CM and S3 where do I get the APi key / secret ?

    Regards

    Matt

    Hey Matt,

So the signup for S3 is here:

    http://aws.amazon.com/s3/

It's pretty fast. When you first set everything up they'll give you a
master key/secret. All kinds of scary messages about how you need to copy
it, never show anyone, etc etc. They're pretty real about that stuff — they
won't show it to you again. So copy both the key and the secret. You add
those on CASH (we don't store them...just create a folder and grant
    permissions) and you'll be set.

Sorry again about this...we're doing our best but basically got killed by a
perfect storm. Big release, security upgrade, and a weekend where 2 of our
3 fulltime staff members were away as is our devops guy. But we'll get it
taken care of and I'll let you know.

Ok I connected the API key successfully.

Now upon testing the asset embedded in my page I see this xml error ?

Hey Matt, are you uploading the asset file directly via the CASH admin, or are you linking from a file you're uploading directly to S3?

If you upload directly to S3, you'll need to set some sort of world-read permissons; otherwise if you upload via the CASH interface and your S3 connection, it should take care of the permissions for you!

    Best,
    Tom

    Hi J

Thanks I used the upload in CM which as you say sorts the permissions.

    Appreciate the quick response.

Will probably revert to Gdrive once you have resolved it to keep costs right down.

    Matt

Great, glad that was an easy fix--- and totally understandable. We'll keep you in the loop for when it's available again.

    Best,
    Tom

Hey Matt, we ran some patches last night and the problem appears to be resolved. Give Google Drive another shot and let us know if you run into any problems.

    Thanks,
    Tom
